Your first chapter
The Writing Desk is where you write chapters. The AI reads them to keep the story straight, and it only touches the text when you ask, on the passage you choose.
-
Open the Writing tab
In any workspace, open Writing. The chapter list on the left holds every chapter, in folders you can drag to reorder.
-
Start or import a chapter
New chapter starts one. Import brings in a
.docxor.pdfyou already have. -
Ask the AI about a passage
Select some text and press Invoke AI. Pick the profile that answers and what comes back:
- Replace rewrites the selection.
- Insert after continues from it.
- Analyze reads it and keeps the reading in Analyses.
-
Accept or reject
A suggestion appears in the chapter itself: your text struck through, the new one in green below it. Accept keeps it. Reject puts your text back.
-
Update the AI’s memory
When the chapter is ready, choose Update the AI’s memory. The AI reads chapters from memory, not while you type, and only reads the paragraphs you added or changed. See Chapter memory.
Beside the page
Section titled “Beside the page”- Notes: your reminders for this chapter, and the analyses you keep.
- Analyses: every reading the AI has made of this chapter.
- Directives: rules the AI follows in every request here, like a tone or a spelling.
Select a name and press Link to world to tie it to a Worldbuild sheet, or create one on the spot. A linked name tells the AI exactly who or what the passage is about.
The tour behind the lightbulb above the chapter list shows all of this on an example chapter.
