Export and import a world

A world can travel as one .klwb file: sheets, rules, calendar, images and the Knowledge you wrote. Evenwell itself ships inside Kallamo as a .klwb package.

Open the ⋯ menu at the top of Worldbuild and choose Export. Before saving, Kallamo shows what goes in the file and what stays behind.

In the package

  • Every sheet, with lore, data and what each one hides from readers.
  • The links between them: relationships, memberships, inventories and places.
  • The calendar and the roleplay rules.
  • Entity templates and their custom fields.
  • The Knowledge entries and Facts you wrote, and the event occurrences you recorded.
  • Pages written inside items, and which items are worn or lying in places.

Your choice

  • Include images: portraits and scene backgrounds. Leave them out for a smaller file.
  • Include background chapters: Writing Desk chapters that sheets use as their background.
  • Include each character’s current values: HP, Mana, level, XP and attributes as they are now. Leave it off to share a fresh world; turn it on to hand over a campaign.

Stays behind

  • The story as played: the scene, the clock and what the Narrative State recorded.
  • Chats, memory, profiles and the other Writing Desk chapters.

Open the ⋯ menu at the top of Worldbuild and choose Import, then pick a .klwb file. You see what the package holds before anything is written.

If the package carries roleplay rules that differ from yours, you choose whether to keep yours, switch to the package’s, or keep yours and add what was missing.

Imported sheets arrive as proposals. Nothing changes your world until you accept or dismiss each one in the sidebar.
