Chapter memory
The AI reads your chapters from its memory, not while you type. Add a chapter to AI memory when it is ready, and the profiles can draw on the whole book: page four hundred still knows page one.
Where a chapter stands
Section titled “Where a chapter stands”Each chapter shows its state in the chapter list and in its header:
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not in AI memory | The AI has not read this chapter. |
| Updating memory | It is being read now. The chapter list marks it in blue. |
| In AI memory | The AI has the latest version. |
| Memory out of date | You changed it after it was read. |
Update the AI’s memory
Section titled “Update the AI’s memory”After writing, choose Update the AI’s memory from the chapter’s memory menu. It reads only the paragraphs you added or changed.
Chapters and the rest of memory
Section titled “Chapters and the rest of memory”Chapters are one source among several. Notes, files and the chat history live in the workspace’s Memory tab. See Memory.
