Suggestions and diffs
In the Writing Desk, the words on the page change only when you say so.
Invoke the AI on a passage
Section titled “Invoke the AI on a passage”Select some text and press Invoke AI. Pick the profile that answers, and what comes back:
- Replace rewrites the selection.
- Insert after continues from it.
- Analyze reads it and keeps the reading in Analyses, beside the page.
Review the diff
Section titled “Review the diff”A suggestion appears in the chapter itself: your text struck through, the new one in green just below it. A bar at the bottom shows the profile, the mode and how many words were added and removed.
- Accept keeps the suggestion.
- Reject puts your text back.
In the chapter list, Review marks a chapter with a suggestion waiting for you, and Read marks one with a new analysis.
Steer every request
Section titled “Steer every request”Directives, beside the page, are rules the AI follows in every request in that chapter, like a tone or a spelling. Link to world ties a name to a Worldbuild sheet, so the AI knows exactly who or what the passage is about.
More in the editor
Section titled “More in the editor”- Find and replace across the chapter, from the chapter header.
- Page setup: paper, margins and spacing you see while you write.
- Word goals: words, characters and pages counted as you go.
- DOCX and PDF: export a chapter or the whole book, paginated.
What the AI reads
Section titled “What the AI reads”When you invoke a profile on a passage, it reads the selection, the text around it, the profile’s rules and knowledge, and what retrieval finds in the workspace: Worldbuild, Memory and the chapters in AI memory. In Configuration › Writing Desk:
- Reading size: a chapter that fits is read whole. A longer one is read around your selection, with related notes. Lower it for tighter, faster answers.
- Include chat history lets the Desk see this workspace’s conversation. Turn it off if the chat’s tone or language is leaking into your prose.
Which profile for which job
